The Glamour Boys face rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday on what has been dubbed ‘final before final’ at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
“It is important for us to focus on the upcoming game against Maritzburg United before we can start thinking about Orlando Pirates,” said Khune who is known in football circles as “Spider Kid”.
“As professionals we should give 100% in each and every game and to me the game against Maritzburg is as crucial. It is very important that we keep the momentum this season following a good start against Golden Arrows,” he told kaizerchiefs.com on Monday ahead of the morning training session.
The Bafana Bafana no. 1, who was again on form as he helped the national team to beat Niger in Nelspruit on Saturday, said he was feeling good about his form but he is taking it one game at a time, “I have managed to keep two clean sheets for Bafana Bafana and two clean sheets for the Club. I am happy with my contribution both in the national team and Kaizer Chiefs. I feel motivated as ever to do well this season.
I am still hungry and it is a pleasure to work with goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker and guys like Arthur Bartman who keep on pushing me hard at training.”
“I have always said that for me individual awards are not important as the success of the team. We want to challenge for more trophies this season and to do that we will have to be on top of our game in each and every game,” he concluded.
