Itumeleng Khune will be in goal for tonight’s match against German Bundesliga side 1899 Hoffenheim. It will be the first game of the 27-year-old goalkeeper after having recovered from injury late last year.
Doctor Khumalo is the coach for the game, while Stuart Baxter will be watching from the stands. Baxter was supposed to go to Japan for an international game in remembrance of the earthquake 20 years ago (17 January 1995) with the city of Kobe the worst hit, whole buildings, apartments blocks and highways collapsed. At least 200 people died and some 13.000 were injured.
However, due to a bout of bad flu earlier this week, Baxter decided not to travel. But the previous arrangement was kept for Khumalo to take charge of the team for the Hoffenheim clash.
Matthew Rusike will get a start to prove himself, while Simphiwe Mtsweni replaces the injured Tsepo Masilela at left-back. Siphelele Mthembu will be the striker.
