Itumeleng Khune will return in goal for this evening’s Absa Premiership match against Chippa United. The 33-year-old replaces Daniel Akpeyi, who suffered a concussion during Kaizer Chiefs’ previous match against Bidvest Wits and had to be replaced.
Khune will wear the captain’s armband.
Good news is that Lebogang Manyama has recovered from his muscle strain and will start against the Chilli Boys.
He will be partnered in midfield by Bernard Parker, Willard Katsande, who will be in the holding role, and Reeve Frosler, who delivered a fine performance on the left wing against the Clever Boys on Sunday.
The backline is left unchanged and will be, from the right, Kgotso Moleko, Mulomowandau Mathoho, Daniel Cardoso and Yagan Sasman.
Samir Nurković will lead the attack together with Khama Billiat.
Besides Akpeyi and Leonardo Castro, who is out for the season due to a hamstring injury, Dumsani Zuma will also miss tonight’s encounter due to a muscle strain.
Amakhosi are still on top of the league log, with 53 points from 28 games.
Chippa drew 1-1 to Stellenbosch in their last outing, with Thokozani Sekotlong finding the back of the net.
The Port Elizabeth-based side has done relatively well since the restart of the league, acquiring five points from four matches. They are now in 12th place on the league table with 31 points from 28 games.
The referee is Jelly Chavani, while his assistants are Zakhele Siwela and Emmanuel de Sani. Akhona Makalima will be the fourth official.
Amakhosi will host the Chilli Boys at Orlando Stadium. Kick-off will be at 18:00.
No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the DStv channel SuperSport 2 and various SABC radio stations, with commentary coming through the Twitter handle, @KaizerChiefs
