The agile young goalkeeper, who won the Premier Soccer League Goalkeeper of the Year Award back in 2007/8 season, is expected to keep the goals for Bafana Bafana in a mouth-watering clash against European Champions Spain at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein.
Bafana Bafana are in contention for the Confederations Cup place with 4 points. This was after a draw against Iraq and an inspiring win against New Zealand on Wednesday.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager, Bobby Motaung joined Kaizer Chiefs Family in wishing Itumeleng Khune a very happy birthday for Saturday.
“We are all delighted for what “Itu” has achieved in his career thus far. I would like to take this opportunity and wish him a fulfilling day on his birthday. He will be occupying the last line of defence tomorrow against Spain and I would like to wish him and his teammates all the best,” said Bobby.
His Bafana Bafana teammate and roommate, Siphiwe Tshabalala revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that Itumeleng is a ‘naughty boy’.
“I am fortunate to be his roommate and I will be the first one to wish him a “Happy Birthday”. Leave the ‘innocent face’; Itu is very naughty but a nice person to share a room with. I am the one who is in charge in the room and the remote is always with me. If there is one present I would recommend for him will be a new wardrobe, the guy does not have a dress sense,” said Shabba jokingly.
“Seriously, I would want to take this opportunity and wish him all the best for his birthday. We have a tough game against Spain and I am sure after that we will be able to celebrate his birthday,” concluded Tshabalala.
