Head Coach, Stuart Baxter has thrown his weight behind young goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo ahead of the Absa Premiership clash against Platinum Stars on Sunday, 28 April at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Umlazi born goalkeeper who has been working with Goalkeeper Coach Rainer Dinkelacker since the start of the season is poised to make his first appearance in the first team following the suspension of goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune against Moroka Swallows.

Khune who has been influential for Club and country will miss the trip to Polokwane but will join his teammates for the game against Ajax Cape Town in Cape Town on Worker’s Day.

Baxter admitted that losing Khune is a blow for the team; “He has been a very important player for us in this campaign however we have Brilliant (Khuzwayo). He has to play on Sunday. He has been working hard and waiting for his chance and at some stage he had to play.

Meanwhile, Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa speaking to kaizerchiefs.com has urged fans to buy their tickets early for the Absa Premiership game against Platinum Stars to avoid disappointment.

“The game in Polokwane is a massive game for the Club for many reasons. There is no doubt that we have a score to settle with Platinum Stars after losing against them early in the season. Branches from every corner of the country have confirmed that they will be coming through to support the team.

We would like to invite all the fans to join us as we continue with our objective; Reclaiming The Glory!” added Maphosa.

The tickets reported to be selling like hotcakes are already on sale for R40 for adults and R10 for kids at Computicket and Computicket at Shoprite/Checkers nationwide.
