The ‘Black Stars’ net minder and Nhleko were team mates at Swedish club Hammarby in 2007, and since the beginning of the World Cup Nhleko had been trying to track down Kingson.

With the assistance of kaizerchiefs.com and the Ghana team manager Randy Abbey, Kingson was given Nhleko’s number and called him on Thursday evening.

Of receiving a call from Kingson who will be in goal for ‘The Black Stars’ against Uruguay at Soccer City on Friday Nhleko said. “I was really surprised when he called me I had been trying to track him down for a few weeks and it was a pleasant surprise to hear from him.

He told me that he was really happy to hear I was trying to get hold of him and as soon as he was given my number he rang me” explained Nhleko.

The Chiefs striker also explained that Kingson had hoped to face him at the World Cup.

“He did say he thought I would make the Bafana team and he was looking forward to possibly playing against me at the World Cup. Unfortunately I did not, I told him its better we not facing each other so this way I can support him”.

Nhleko will be in attendance at the game against Uruguay as a guest of Kingson.

“I wished him well for the game and he did say that he was a bit nervous but I told him not to worry he will do well.

He was also kind enough to give me two tickets for their game against Uruguay, and I promised to meet up with him after the game hopefully it will be to celebrate Ghana’s passage to the semi-finals”.
