It is only a few hours before the Soweto Derby kicks-off. Kaizer Chiefs are ready to go to battle against their traditional arch-rivals Orlando Pirates. Amakhosi are going into the much-anticipated game with the theme, ‘The Battle Is On’.
“We know what to do and we will take some decisions overnight,” coach Ernst Middendorp commented after the pre-match training session held on Friday afternoon.
The match takes place at FNB Stadium. Kick-off for the sold-out Soweto Derby is at 15:30.
Looking at the availability of his players, Middendorp confirmed, “We are still waiting for Mulomowandau Mathoho to fully recover from his injury, while Itumeleng Khune, Lebogang Manyama and Joseph Molangoane are still out.”
“We will field a balanced team that will be able to play according to plan and our intention to win,” the Chiefs coach concluded.
