To coincide with Kaizer Chiefs’ three home games away from home at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, the Amakhosi took their famous Time Capsule to Polokwane. It’s housed at SABC Park (on the corner of Market and Hospital Street).
While walking through the Time Capsule, basically two long containers put together, one learns about Chiefs’ history, from the foundation on 7 January 1970 until the present.
On Monday, 15 December, however, it will be the last day that this little history museum will be open to the public in Polokwane.
Numerous Amakhosi fans have visited the Time Capsule in Polokwane. Among them were John Semenwa and Isaac Makgoka from the Chiefs Seshego Branch.
“I learnt so many new things,” Makgoka reflects after his walk through Amakhosi’s history. “We also know now more things about our Club’s Chairman Kaizer Motaung. For example, I didn’t know that he had played in America against the Brazilian soccer legend Pelé, even shaking hands together afterwards.”
“It was a real eye opener,” adds Semenwa. “I better understand now where Chiefs come from. I want to advice every Amakhosi fan to grab their last chance to visit the Time Capsule on Monday.”
The Time Capsule will be open for visitors from 10am until 5pm on Monday, 15 December.
Besides this journey through the Time Capsule, supporters can also buy there our Forever Fearless Jersey for the 2014/2015 season. And, what’s more, one can buy the jersey at Polokwane’s SABC Park for only R599. That’s a R150 cut from the normal amount!
