Sakhile ‘Lastborn’ Hlongwa reflected on his first six months at Kaizer Chiefs Village and despite not making any appearances for the first team he told kaizerchiefs.com that it has been a learning curve being at Naturena.
Hlongwa also had his fare share of injuries; “It has been a good experience being in one of the biggest Clubs in the country. I have not yet featured but I have learnt a lot working with the Technical Team and the likes of Bernard Parker, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Kaizer (Motaung JNR), Sthe (Sthembiso Ngcobo) and Kingston (Nkhatha).
“I did not struggle a lot to settle in Johannesburg having arrived from Durban because Chiefs is a family Club. My teammates were also helpful. I struggled a little bit with a groin injury but I am now ok. I am going to step up when we come back in January.
Hlongwa said the squad was determined to win trophies before the end of the season; “Given the circumstances of last season everyone here is determined to contribute to the success of the Club. It is the will to succeed that is a driving force in the team.
