The Mamelodi born midfielder affectionately known as ‘What’s – Up’ has been in superb form for the Club recently and spoke to kaizerchiefs.com about how he felt when the news about his first call up to Bafana Bafana were broken to him.
“I first thought it was a prank,” said the visibly delighted Lebese who was last week appointed in the Captains Committee for the Club.
“It is an honour to be called up to the national team. I have been pushing hard to make the first eleven at Chiefs and possibly get an opportunity to play in the U23s. I honestly did not aim that higher.
“I am extremely happy that the hard work I have been putting in my game has been recognised at the senior level.
“I would like to thank the Technical Team, my teammates and everyone who have been pushing me hard this season. I am really encouraged now to work even harder in improving all aspects of my game.
Also called up by Coach Pitso Mosimane is midfielders, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala and striker, Lehlohonolo Majoro.
