Vladimir Vermezovic and his charges left the Chiefs Village on Friday morning for Durban without the youngster, George Lebese who will miss the final due to groin injury.

The stylish winger who was a notable absentee during the victory against Orlando Pirates on Monday was ruled out of the final on Thursday afternoon.

“George will not take any part in the final due to injury. The same applies to Gerald Sibeko who has a knock on his knee,” revealed Coach Vladimir as he is sometimes called at the Village.

Despite this the Serbian was still confident of bringing the cup to the Village on Sunday, “We meeting a very good team in Ajax Cape Town. We have played them three times this season so both teams know each other and there will be no surprises. We going there to win the final and I am sure that my players are once again going to give 100% in ensuring that we bring the cup home.

We would like to wrap the game at a normal time but sometimes it is not possible in football like it happened against Orlando Pirates. The game had to be decided on penalties and this is sometimes good for the supporters who spend more time enjoying the game but for us on the bench it is a different story,” he said.

Midfielder, David Mathebula who showed signs of brilliance when he came on as a substitute against Orlando Pirates in the semi final said he was confident of bringing the cup to Naturena.

“We want to win the cup as the team and for me it would be good to win it for the second time having won it back in 2007. We all have been working hard to achieve this goal. We know that it will not be easy to play against Ajax Cape Town but our experience in the cup finals should make the difference,” said Mathebula.

Meanwhile, legend Doctor Khumalo has joined number of legends and fans wishing the team all the best in Durban, “Good luck to all the guys. I am confident that they will do well in Durban having beaten top sides on their way to the final,” he said.
