Itumeleng Khune and Bernard Parker will start their fourth consecutive game at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations when they line up for Bafana Bafana to face Mali in a Quarterfinal clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 20h30 Saturday evening.
Khune the man of the match when Bafana Bafana drew 2-2 in their final group game against Morocco will again be looked upon to be the strength as the last line of defense, Tsepo Masilela who did not play in the opening group game against Cape Verde keeps his place at the back for the third match in a row.
Joining Masilela in the back is his Amakhosi teammate Siboniso Gaxa who features at the tournament for a first time, and makes is first appearance at a nations cup since 2006 - he replaces the suspended Anele Ngcongca. With Gaxa starting it now means that all seven Chiefs players in the Bafana Bafana squad will have featured at the tournament.
Gaxa and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are the two new additions to the starting line-up from the 2-2 draw against Morocco, Yeye makes a return to the starting eleven after starting the first game he came on to a devastating effect in the second game against Angola when he was used as a second half substitute, he also featured in the last game against Morocco from the bench. He replaces Katlego Mphela.
Bernard Parker remains in the starting eleven, while Lehlohonolo Majoro who scored and was injured in the game against Angola is fit again and is likely to feature from the bench, Siphiwe Tshabalala is the other Chiefs player amongst the substitutes.
Bafana Bafana will have revenge on their mind as they look to avenge their elimination at the hands of the Malians at the same stage of the 2002 tournament, Mali have three players Seydou Keita, Fousseni Diawara and Adama Coulibaly in their line-up who played in that game 11 years ago.
The Malians have had to make a forced change with goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa suspended - they have brought in second choice Soumaila Diakite.
