Josta Dladla is one of the most recognizable players in the squad because of his naughty smile. He has been playing top class football since 1998 and went to Europe where he played for three years and he remains down to earth. He spoke to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday about what he gets up to off the field.

Firsts….

The first jersey number…

Josta Dladla:
It was no. 21 at Wits University (Bidvest Wits). It was the number that was available. If I had a choice I would have chosen no. 6 or no. 7.

First boots…

Josta Dladla:
My first ever boots was Puma Jomo Sono King. Someone gave me the boots…I used to live with my grandmother so the guy who used to be regular at the house brought me the boots. It was way back I might have been 7/8 years old.

The first pay check…

Josta Dladla:
It was R1000, 00 at Wits University. I was still at high school. I blew it (laughing). I used the money for groceries and for transport to training. We used train at Marks Park and I was in boarding school in Lenseria.

The first kiss…

Josta Dladla: (takes a long pause)
Hhhhhh, yeah I remember that one I was still in Primary. I forgot the ladies name. I used to watch movies in Soweto Tsugang Primary in Soweto. I do not remember much about that though. I do not even know her right now.

The first car…

Josta Dladla:
It was UNO…I bought it from my father for R5000, 00. I have kept it ever since. My dad said to me; give me R5000, 00 so that I can save it for you. I am still waiting to this day for that money. It was when I turned 21.

The first time I boarded an airplane…

Josta Dladla: My first flight, my father had to go work in England and they left me behind. I followed them when school closed in December. I was doing Standard Six.

Ifs….

If you would invite four people for dinner in your house who would it be?

Josta Dladla: It would be Rihanna, no no I am joking. It would be God. It would my late uncle, Oupa Makgala, my wife, Thato and the phenomenon, Ronaldo (Brazil). I will break the rules and invite my parents too (laughing)

If you were not a footballer what would you be doing?

Josta Dladla:
Yoh! I had ambitions to be an Engineer…so I think I would be one.

If you would be given an opportunity to sign two players for Chiefs who would you go for?

Josta Dladla:
Surprise Moriri from Mamelodi Sundowns and the late Oscar Ntwagae.

What is playing on your car right now?

Josta Dladla: I listen to your whole lot of HIP HOP and now I was listening to, Maek Linn. I will be rocking Richboy and a bit Craig and Lil Wayne later on. I will definitely be going to Lil Wayne’s concert on Friday night. I am going with my wife.

Who is the best dresser at Chiefs?

Josta Dladla:
We got lot of good dressers there; there are two types of dressers Yende has the swagger and you’ve got Jimmy who wears more formal. Parker is also quite stylish. He mixes up formal wear with Hip Hop stuff. Me? I like my t-shirts and my jeans and pair of All Stars. I cannot keep up with fashion. I can’t keep up with some of my teammates, Shabba and Yeye.

Then you have Tinashe as well who is on the sky board tip. It really depends what you looking

Josta Dladla:
Most of the guys are serious at Chiefs. The just come and want to work. Steven Ncanana though is the funniest guy in the team. The naughtiest has to be Lucky Khune. I am also not forgetting myself...I can be very naughty (Laughing)

At home. I prefer private places where I can chill with friends.
