The Soweto Derby is happening on Saturday, 27 October2018. Kick-off is at 15:30. Gates open at 11:30. Activities will be a galore around the stadium precinct from 10:00.The venue is the iconic FNB Stadium, the ‘Calabash’.
Tickets are sold out. The supporters are urged to arrive as early as possible to have a smooth entry into the Calabash.
Security and safety are key to ensure a memorable staging of arguably the most anticipated and mouthwatering football showpiece. The following are some of the measures that have been put in place leading to the showpiece.
Closures and accreditation check points:
PRASA Trains will not be operating on events day.
The use of the arranged public transportation for the event is highly recommended. It will ease congestion around the stadium and ensure that you will arrive in time for the match.
The following public transport arrangements have been put in place for the event: Rea Vaya.
Rea Vaya will be operating a service to transport fans to the Orlando Pirates vs Kaizer Chiefs match from its stations along the Rea Vaya phase 1A and phase 1B route to the FNB Stadium. Fans will be dropped off and picked up at the Soccer City Rea Vaya Station after the match. Ticket prices are R30 for a single trip and R40 for a return ticket. The below table is a schedule of the arrival and departure times:
