Majoro looking to build on debut goal

Lehlohonolo Majoro made the perfect start when he scored on his league debut for the Amakhosi this past weekend, as they defeated Jomo Cosmos 2-1 in their season opener on Saturday evening. While the clubs off season acquisition is happy to have opened his account, he has every intention of continuing to work hard and is hoping to build on his opening day success.

“I am obviously pleased that I got on the score sheet against Cosmos” explained Majoro to kaizerchiefs.com, without getting ahead of himself the attacker is hoping to make it a regular occurrence. “I do believe that finding a goal early on in the season can help me score more goals, as a player and especially as a striker when you score goals you grow in confidence.”

Majoro is aware of the virtue of patience and is staying grounded despite his first opening night heroics, “it is important that I take things one game at a time I managed to score my first goal and hopefully and I say this without putting pressure on myself I can get more.

"My hope is that the fact that I have managed to score early on will help put me at ease and help be more composed in front of goal and that I can do a good job for the team when it matters most.”

While Majoro’s personal contribution in the game was key he does believe that the Amakhosi labored together and it was their collective effort that saw them put three points on the board.

“The game was a difficult one and we expected it that way, what matters most and what was important for us was important that we managed to get the points and we achieved that.”

In addition to featuring during the victory over Cosmos Majoro also featured in Chiefs MTN8 quarter-final clash the previous weekend against BIDVest Wits and after featuring in two games he believes that he is finding his feet and making strides in the right direction.

“There definitely is room for me to improve, with more games to come and hopefully with more playing time I will get better”, he concluded.
