Striker, Lehlohonolo ‘Waga-Waga’ Majoro revealed that the pep talk from Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic ahead of the win against Black Leopards on Saturday got the team ‘fired up’.
Majoro scored one of the fasted hat-tricks in South African football between 9th and 16th minute as the Glamour Boys pushed Black Leopards aside to progress to the last 8 of the Nedbank Cup.
“We were all fired up ahead of the game. The Coach told us before the game how important it was for us to win the game and we are all happy to progress to the next stage of the competition,” said the player affectionately known as ‘Wagga-Wagga’.
He also paid tribute to teammates Siphiwe Tshabalala who was involved in all his four goals, “Credit should go to Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala). He is a top player and showed this evening what a quality player he is. He is very important to the team.
“We have a good understanding as we also play together in the national team. I also want to thank my teammates for job well done. We were solid in all areas,” he told kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning.
Kaizer Chiefs will know on Monday who their quarterfinal opponents will be; “It is our ambition to win the Nedbank Cup and against Black Leopards we showed that we want to win. We need to carry on in the same spirit,” added Majoro.
