With three games played and a 100 percent win record since the start of the 2025/26 season, Kaizer Chiefs will host Mamelodi Sundowns in a big Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium tonight.

The match that is sold out and 75,000 spectators are expected to witness fireworks as the two teams meet for the first time in the new campaign after colliding in four sold-out matches last season.

Amakhosi were last in action last Tuesday when they beat Richards Bay FC at FNB Stadium, while Sundowns played Orlando Pirates on Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium in an MTN8 semifinal that ended 1-1, with Pirates winning 1-4 after penalties.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi returns to the saddle, having arrived in South Africa from Tunisia after missing the first three matches due to his wife’s ill health.

The coach and his technical team have made three changes to last week’s Starting XI.

In defence, Aden McCarthy, who picked up an injury in the last match, is replaced by Zitha Kwinika and Paseka Mako starts his first match for Amakhosi coming in for Bradley Cross. In the middle of the park, Siphesihle Ndlovu makes way for Pule Mmodi, who starts his first match of the season.

It will be a 4-1-4-1 formation for this evening’s big encounter.

Brandon Petersen, who has managed to keep three clean sheets, starts in goal again.

Mako will be on the left of Amakhosi’s defence, with Kwinika combining with Inacio Miguel in the centre, and Thabiso Monyane - playing his fourth consecutive match of the season - will be on the right of the back four.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa will once again play the defensive midfield role.

Thabo Cele and Mduduzi Shabalala will play the attacking midfield roles, with Mmodi on the left wing and Glody Lilepo attacking from the right.

Wandile Duba will lead the attack.

This evening’s referee is Masixole Bambiso. His assistants are Zakhele Siwela and Elphas Sitole. The fourth official is Kenny Mamegwa

Amakhosi’s fourth Betway Premiership match of the 2025/26 season against Masandawana commences at 19:30 at FNB Stadium. The match will be live on SuperSport’s channel 202 and SABC 3, with live commentary on various SABC radio stations. There will be live updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
