Frank ‘Disco’ Makua believes that the future is bright for the Glamour Boys following the emergence of youngsters from the Kaizer Chiefs Development like Lucky ‘Sheriff’ Baloyi and Lucky Khune.

Both Luckys were in the scoresheet last weekend as the Glamour Boys beat Cape Town All Stars on Saturday last week at Soccer City Complex.

“It always good to see youngsters coming up from the youth ranks making themselves heard in the first team,” said Frank Makua who burst into scene as a 20-year-old back in 1995. He was handed the no. 22 jersey that belonged to another legend, Trevor ‘KKK’ Mthimkhulu.

“I am impressed with Lucky Baloyi and if he keeps working hard I have no doubt that he will become a very important player for the Club. I have watched him in the past couple of games and he looks impressive.

Lucky Khune has also started featuring regularly for the first team and scored his debut goal against Cape Town All Stars last Saturday; “He looks matured now on the field. He has stopped playing around. One has to look at how he is creating spaces for the midfielders to come in and also creating goals like he did with Majoro in Mpumalanga.

Makua revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that he still follows the progress of the team; “I still watch the guys whenever they play. I have also been keeping an eye on Mandla Masango who is also maturing nicely. There is no doubt that Chiefs will have a good team in the next couple of years of the players who came from the youth ranks.

‘Disco’ as Frank was affectionately known in football circles believes that the Glamour Boys have what it takes to win the league; “The players know that their pride is a stake as they have not won a cup this season and I think they will go all the way and win the cup for the first time,” added Makua.
