The tournament is used by CAF (Confederation of African Football) to decide the three teams going to London. Baby Bafana will face highly rated Ivory Coast on their first game on Saturday.
Mandla Masango who was back at Kaizer Chiefs Village training with his teammates on Friday following a trip with the U23s to Algeria where they played two friendly games said; “The trip to Algeria did not see us bringing back positive results as we lost both games but we learnt a lot and we should be ready to compete in Morocco.
“We did not play badly at all. I was pleased with how we played as a team. We gave our best in both games and we can only build from that going to Morocco next week.
Masango was also happy to get some game time; “It has been a while since I had played and it was nice to get out there and represent the country.
I played in both games and did not feel any pain from my ankle. I should be back at my best in Morocco.
“We were also happy to have been joined by a new Assistant Coach, Manqoba Mgqithi who is very knowledgeable.
I am still confident that with few of the guys possible joining us for the trip to Morocco we can qualify for 2012 Olympics.
We have to believe that we can beat all odds and qualify and if the belief is there; half of the job is done,” added Masango who was allowed to miss the trip to Peter Mokaba this past weekend.
