Amakhosi midfielder Mandla Masango has told kaizerchiefs.com that he will be happy to play any role in helping the Amakhosi win their final league game of the season against Amazulu on May 21.

While it has been a season of near misses for Masango he remains optimistic that he can still find a goal before the conclusion of the 2010 – 2011 campaing, if not he will be just as happy to lay on the goals for his teammates against the Usuthu if he is able to.

“It remains my wish to still find a goal this season; I am not going to put myself under any added pressure though to find the back of the net. I am a team player and it is not just all about me, I am equally content at setting up some one else to score.”

An example of Masango’s eagerness to play the role of goal assister came this past weekend when he set up Siphiwe Tshabalala for Chiefs fourth goal against Ajax Cape Town when he was in the position to have got his name on the score sheet.

“Like I said this is a team sport and I saw that Shabba was in a better position to have finished off the move and it was better for me to have played the ball to him which I did and he scored.”

Masango is also pleased by the fact that of the last eight goals scored by the Amakhosi in league action through their last four league encounters a host of players have found goals for Chiefs.

“We have had midfielders and defenders scoring as well as Knowledge Musona contributing and keeping up his good scoring form, all of this is a good thing for the team. It shows that we work well as a unit and we not putting pressure on any one person to score.”

According to Masango the Amakhosi will go out in their final league game against Amazulu and look to enjoy the occasion just as they during the win against Ajax , “against Ajax every one was hungry for the win and if you look at our goals they were all well worked team goals.

It shows that everyone wanted to be involved in the team’s success and they got involved in playing a hand in the win, we go into that final game with no pressure and we will be looking to put up another fine team performance.”
