‘I'm delighted. However, I would like to dedicate the award to my teammates,’ stresses Mandla Masango after becoming Absa Premiership Player for the month of August. Masango was presented with his award at the Chiefs Village this (Thursday) morning. The award goes with a trophy and a R5000 cheque.
Masango has been in scintillating form, scoring three goals and earning a national call-up. He played for Bafana Bafana against Sudan and Nigeria in the 2015 Afcon qualifiers.
‘I would like to thank the technical team for their hard work to make sure we do our work properly,’ continues Masango. ‘The technical team is helping us to improve. They are teaching us football. I'm very happy, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.’
What about the national duty?
Masango: ‘The journey was good and we did well. It's a good start for us and we hope to continue working hard to improve as a national team.’ Bafana Bafana beat Sudan 3–0 away and followed up with a 0–0 draw at home against Nigeria in the 2015 Orange Afcon qualifiers.
