With that strike to his name, Masango is now hoping to get another chance to face the Students when Chiefs host their Johannesburg rivals in an Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday evening.
“Scoring that goal early on in the season has helped me a lot. Last season I got into good goal scoring positions but luck was not on my side against Wits. I hit the post in one game and had another goal that was ruled out for offside. I am pleased that things have started out better for me this season.”
Masango, as he further explained, believes that all he needed was some luck to open his goal tally for the season and he got it. “It was good to have the rub of the green so to speak.
"The luck went with me and I managed to get a goal in the MTN8 game. Scoring has put me at ease. I would like to score as many goals as possible. If I cannot score I am just as happy to assist my teammates in doing so.”
Having faced Wits already once this season, Masango is again expecting the Students to make life difficult for the Amakhosi when the sides clash on Wednesday. “Wits are not the kind of team who are going to wait for us to dominate them.
"They are a very attack-minded team and we found that out when we played them in the Cup game. I feel that since we have played them we have improved and gotten better, so it will be an interesting clash.”
The Amakhosi will be looking to keep up their unbeaten run in the league when they face Wits, which is also their third consecutive clash against a team from Johannesburg.
