“Mr. Cool” Matle who had a promising 2008/9 season is hoping to make the upcoming season a better one.
“We should give the coach a warm welcome and work with him when he arrives this month. Personally I am looking forward to working with Mr. Vermezovic and I am sure all my teammates feel the same,” said Matle.
“Last season was an eye opener for me as I made my debut for the team back in January. I went on to play couple of games, but although I was happy with my performances I know that there is a lot of work ahead for me to do if I have any ambitions to play week in week out for Chiefs.”
Matle says his dream is to win the league next season, “This is a dream I share with everyone associated with the Club. We all have to work together in ensuring that we bring the Absa Premiership to Naturena. We have a good team and we were just unlucky not to win the league last season. It is time now to go all out and bring it home,” he added.
Matle was a contender for the Most Improved Player of the Season but came second best to Thabang Rooi who won the award.
“It was a big thing for me to be nominated for such a prestigious award. It was acknowledgement for the work I have put in since making my debut. I was not disappointed that I did not win it in the end but it served as an encouragement for me to work even harder to improve all aspects of my game,” he concluded.
