Amakhosi will play their eighth Betway Premiership match of the season when they take on AmaZulu FC this evening at FNB Stadium.
The highly anticipated match comes on the back of Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Kabuscorp of Angola in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday at the same venue.
The team will welcome Khanyisa Mayo back after he missed Saturday’s encounter due CAF registration constraints. The striker was on the scoresheet in Amakhosi’s last league match against Marumo Gallants.
Amakhosi are currently fifth on the log with 14 points after playing seven matches. AmaZulu, on the other hand, are placed ninth with 11 points from seven games.
The coaches have made one change from the team that started the last match, with Mayo coming in to replace Ashley Du Preez.
The team has changed to a 4-2-3-1 formation for this evening’s encounter.
Brandon Petersen is the goalkeeper.
The back four will see Bradley Cross on the left, with Inacio Miguel and Zitha Kwinika at the centre of defence, and Dillan Solomons will play on the right
Sibongiseni Mthethwa is in midfield, working with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
The attacking midfielders are Pule Mmodi, who will be on the left-wing, Mduduzi Shabalala in the middle and Glody Lilepo on the right
Mayo, who scored on debut in the last match, leads the attack.
This evening’s referee is Thando Ndzandzeka. His assistants are Zakhele Siwela and Karabo Baloyi. The fourth official is Akhona Makalima.
The league match between Amakhosi and Usuthu will commence at 19:30 at FNB Stadium. The match will be live on PSL Channel’s DStv channel 202, with live commentary on most SABC radio stations. There will be live updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
