Kaizer Chiefs will wrap up the year 2025 with a visit to Mbombela stadium in Nelpruit to face TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership this afternoon.

The game, scheduled for earlier in the season, was postponed due to Amakhosi’s involvement in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

This is Chiefs’ second match on the road this week after they play edto a goalless draw with Chippa United in Gqeberha on Wednesday. The hosts had a similar scoreline in their previous encounter, against Polokwane City over last weekend in Polokwane.

On the log, Amakhosi remain in position five with 23 points after 12 games played. Galaxy complete the top eight with 20 points in 13 outings.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys will have Glody Lilepo and Wandile Duba back in the squad after both forwards missed a few weeks while nursing injuries, as well as 19-year-old Luke Baartman, who will form part of the 20-man squad for the first time this season. The trio will start on the bench.

There are three changes in the starting team when compared to Wednesday’s Starting XI. At the back, Dillan Solomons returns to replace Thabiso Monyane; in midfied, Mduduzi Shabalala is in for the slightly injured Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Asanele Velebayi makes way for Khanyisa Mayo in attack.

The coaches will go for a 4-4-2 formation

Brandon Petersen is the goalie.

At the back will be Paseka Mako on the left, with Inacio Miguel and Zitha Kwinika combining in the centre. Solomons is on the right of defence.

George Matlou will hold the midfield, as he did in the previous match, supported by Lebohang Maboe. Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi will be on the left and right wings, respectively.

Flavio Da Silva and Mayo are the leading men in attack.

The referee for this afternoon is Skhumbuzo Gasa. He will be assisted by Lubabalo Pitsha and Mervyn van Wyk. The fourth official is Msimeleli Mabuto.

The Betway Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and the Rockets will kick off at 15:30 at Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit. The match will be live on SuperSport’s PSl Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
