“A visit to the home of Kaizer Chiefs will inspire the learners to greatness,” says Bongani Sibisi, the commercial studies educator, who visited Chiefs Village with learners from Mbambangalo High School. “The learners asked us to organise the trip to Amakhosi and this is a dream come true.”
Mbambangalo High is based in a semi-rural area of Magongqo in Pietermaritzburg. “We came to the Village as part of our educational excursion in Johannesburg,” adds Sibisi, flanked by his colleagues and the cheerful group of Grade 11 and 12 learners. “It is inspiring to touch this ground and it makes us feel like champions. The facility is top notch and well kept.”
Chiefs’ Retail Manager Emmanuel Khumalo heaped praises on the school: “KwaZulu-Natal is our stronghold, where we command a huge following and we are happy to welcome you. The respect and mannerism of the learners is encouraging and it gives hope for our country’s future.”
The educators took some time off from the Village tour to buy authentic merchandise from the KC Retail Store situated at the Village in Naturena.
