“This Club is about winning,” said Nengomasha as he accepted the jersey.
Musona paid tribute to his countryman popularly known in football circles as ‘The General’.
“He is an inspiration not only to me but all the young players in my country. He is like a brother to me. I started following Chiefs when Tinashe made impact here and since then I watched the Club games on television and everyone back home knew how much I loved the Club.
It is a dream come true to have joined and I am looking forward to play for Chiefs,” said ‘Sense’ who has immediately won himself a nickname from kaizerchiefs.com.
But where did it start for the boy who turned 19 on the 21st of June?
“I played with my brother Tim for a small club in the second division and one day we played against Aces Academy. I might have impressed the scouts because I did not even score as we drew 1 all with them.
“It was in the Academy that my life changed for the better as I am coming from a tough background. My mother was the only one who could provide for us at home as my father was ill,” he recalled.
They paid my school fees and looked after me very well. Coming to South Africa to play for such a big Club gives me an opportunity to continue looking after my family,” continued ‘Sense’.
Musona believes that he can achieve more than what Nengomasha has achieved at the Club.
“You must always dream big and aim high. I would like to achieve more than what Tinashe has achieved during his time here. I do know that calls for hard work…we have been working very hard here with the coach in preparation for next season. I enjoy training and it is nice when you are fit during the season,” he said with a smile.
“My biggest dream is to win trophies with the Club, represent my country and play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. This calls for me to work hard to get a starting berth in the team. We have a lot of talented players but we going to push each other and that can only help the team,” he concluded.
