Striker Phumlani Mkhize will be hauled before a Kaizer Chiefs disciplinary committee on a date yet to be confirmed following an accident where he shot himself in the leg.
Team manager Bobby Motaung says he has recommended that Mkhize be brought before the DC to answer charges of negligence and misconduct.
"We are sorry about what happened to the player but he is setting a bad precedence," says Motaung. "The player is employed to play football and he must explain circumstances surrounding this incident."
Mkhize, who will be out of action for the remainder of the season, is believed to have accidentally shot himself in the leg while putting his gun away.
