"I'm looking forward to the reserve league game," reveals the Kaizer Chiefs newcomer Phakamani Mngadi. Mngadi will be in the Kaizer Chiefs team playing against Supersport United in the Multichoice Diski Challenge on Heritage Day.
Mngadi made his debut appearance in Chiefs colours last week, coming on as an 88th minute substitute during the 2 - 1 league win over TUKS. Mngadi came on replacing Kingston Nkhatha.
Mngadi reveals his emotions following his debut in the gold and black colours of Chiefs. "I don't know how to describe the feeling. I was happy to be named in the match squad. The atmosphere in the stadium was electrifying and that made me a bit nervous going through to the warm up."
Mngadi arrived at Chiefs on a loan deal from a Belgium club, KAS Eupen.
"It was an amazing feeling playing at the FNB Stadium for the first time. It was something else, I was nervous," says Mngadi.
"Before the match the coach told me I must be ready in case he calls for my services. I was looking forward to play. Our cheering supporters encouraged me during warmup," comments Mngadi.
About his first touch of the ball, Mngadi says, "I received a pass from Letsholonyane (Reneilwe) and cheering fans encouraged me to do my thing (tricks). I knew the responsibility that comes with donning this jersey."
About the reception, a confident comments, "I feel welcomed by the fans and my teammates. My parents called after the game and expressed their joy and they told me that not everyone will get a chance."
