The Kaizer Chiefs player, 21-year-old Lucky Khune, insisted on Tuesday that there is more work following his five-star performance on Saturday that saw him scoring a scorcher in the final of Charity Cup that the Glamour Boys went on to win by 4-3 on penalties.

Khune, who made his debut against Orlando Pirates in last year’s edition of the Telkom Charity Cup, fired the Glamour Boys to a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of the game.

“I went crazy,” he told kaizerchiefs.com just before training on Tuesday morning.

“I have stopped joking around now and it is time to work hard. I was here early this morning because it is important for me to work harder than I have done before. I am excited to have scored my first goal for the Club but I feel I can still improve,” said Khune, who was a regular goalscorer during his days at the Club’s development structures.

Khune, affectionately known as KAKA, revealed that he got lot of encouragement from his teammates, including his brother Itumeleng Khune, who urged him to continue working hard. “Everyone was very supportive and obviously Itu was over the moon, but reminded me that I have to work even harder. He told me that he nearly jumped off the field when I scored the goal,” he added.
