Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung insisted that he is still hands on in the running of the Club and retiring has not crossed his mind.

‘Chincha Guluva’ as he is affectionately known in football circles was speaking to 083 Sports@6 with Robert Marawa on Metro FM on Thursday evening 30 May 2013.

“I am still very much involved in the running of Kaizer Chiefs as a business. I am hands on but it is not about what I do, it is about a collective,” said Motaung.

The Kaizer Chiefs supremo elaborated on Kaizer Chiefs winning the league and cup double, Champions League, his vision and his interests outside football.

On Champions League…

Kaizer Chiefs is duty bound to participate in the Champion’s League next season. It is not about Kaizer Chiefs but the country. It is still my dream to win the Champions League. We are looking forward to the challenge.

We are going to strengthen the team and make sure that we have a squad big enough to give a good account of ourselves both in the league and in Africa. Bolstering the team will depend on what the Coach says and what the requires to defend and challenge for honours.

Naturena as a Home…

I recall when we bought the land back in 1993 some of my co-directors were not very happy as they thought we were wasting money. I told them that the land will help us in future. We have bought the land adjacent to our offices where we will be hosting our youth academy. We will also build a mega store and museum.

On retirement…

I consider myself still young if you look at some of my counterparts especially overseas some of them are still even involved in coaching. Retiring has not even crossed my mind. I am focusing on building the Kaizer Chiefs brand.

On his ambition before he retires…

I would love to see the team having a star on top of our badge (The Champions League). We have started with the construction of the Village where we will be housing our development. I would love to see the Club having a world class academy - that's my wish.

On music…

I am a music man and I listen to a variety of music including Buga Luv (Kabelo Mabalane). I was touched listening to the track, ‘Amakhosi ajabulile’ when he was here in the studio early this week.

Wish for himself…

To watch my grandchildren grow. I have about seven grandchildren and they are amazing. The things they say and also their knowledge of technology is unbelievable. I wish God could spare me to be able to see them grow and mature as adults.

On his wish for Kaizer Chiefs…

I would like to see the Club not only conquering South Africa but the continent and to be one of the top sporting brands in the world.

Message to the Supporters…

Give all the credit to the team; they gave their all. The Coach was fantastic and we thank you for your support throughout the years.
