Kaizer Chiefs’ Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung has been nominated in the category of Woman of the Year for the 2015 Spar GSport awards.

2015 marks 10 years of the awards and the organisers have partnered with the Department of Sport and Recreation in celebration of Women’s month. Other nominees in the category of Woman of the Year award are Thandi Merafe and Patricia Kambarami.

According to the gsport.co.za website, Jessica Motaung is renowned as a strong woman in the world of sport. She is the Marketing Director of Kaizer Chiefs, the biggest football team in South Africa, and who recently won the ABSA Premiership once again. Motaung has led the team to their position as the biggest sports brand in the country, said to be even bigger than the Springboks & Proteas brands (with football being the most popular sport in the country). As the face of this powerful sports brand, she has thrived in a male dominated industry and continues to be an example of excellence in women aspiring to play a meaningful part of this world of sport.

The 2015 SPAR GSport Awards will take place on Friday, 14 August at the prestigious Wanderers Club as an invite-only Gala Awards Dinner, where the stars of South African women’s sport is expected to gather and celebrate the great strides made over the past decade.
