Katlego Mphela came on as a 79th minute substitute in the Amakhosi tense win over Ajax Cape Town. Mphela replaced Kingston Nkhatha and was stretchered off the pitch with a suspected concussion during the referee's optional time.

"Katlego Mphela sustained a blow to the head. He expressed some discomfort and symptoms that necessitated evaluation for concussion. Following evaluation and management in the medical room, he was found to be fit to play and without any lingering symptoms," reported Team medico Dr Mampane.

Chiefs won the game 2 - 0 with goals coming from Knowledge Musona in the dying minutes of the game.
