Kaizer Chiefs will be in the province of KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon for a Betway Premiership clash against Richards Bay FC at the King Zwelithini stadium.
Amakhosi are hoping to make it six points over Richards Bay this season after claiming all the points in the first round when the teams met in Polokwane in November.
In their midweek encounters, Chiefs picked up a point after drawing 0-0 with Cape Town City at FNB Stadium, and Richards Bay lost 1-0 against Magesi.
The Glamour Boys have collected 29 points in their 21 matches and are in 8th position on the log, while Richards Bay have dropped to position 14, with 21 points after as many games.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi is a relieved man to have three of his key players back from injury and ready to fight for the team. They are Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Edson Castillo and Wandile Duba.
The coach has opted to keep changes to just two for this game, and they will be in the midfield, where Mthethwa goes straight into the lineup, replacing Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Pule Mmodi comes in for Gaston Sirino.
Chiefs will once again adopt a 4-1-4-1 formation.
The keeper remains Bruce Bvuma.
The four at the back are Wednesday’s man of the match, Edmilson Dove, on the left, Inacio Miguel and Given Msimango in the centre, and Dillan Solomons is on the right.
Mthethwa returns to his holding midfielder position. He is supported by four other midfielders, with Mduduzi Shabalala and Thabo Cele in front of him and out wide, Pule Mmodi on the left and Glody Lilepo on the right.
Ashley Du Preez leads the attack.
Miguel will wear the armband.
The afternoon’s referee is Christopher Kistoor. He will be assisted by Tumi Mohlala and Thabo Thinane. The fourth official is Xolani Hlatshwayo.
The Betway Premiership between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and the Natal Rich Boyz kicks off at 15:30 at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi. The game is live on SuperSport’s Channel 208 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
