Head Coach Stuart Baxter was disappointed after losing to archrivals Orlando Pirates in the MTN 8 semifinal 2nd leg. Baxter and his charges went down to Pirates through aggregate score after the match on Heritage Day that ended in 1-1 draw, but Pirates had a 1-0 lead from the first leg.
"We approached the game in a positive way. We were talking about winning and started the game on the front foot. But for some reasons in the second half we sat back and started playing longer and deep. We will lick our wound and move on to the next challenges that lie ahead. From my point of view consistency with referee decisions is key.”
Willard Katsande was booked by referee Daniel Bennett with his first tackle of the game, that matter didn't go well with Baxter;
"Referees have eyes on him (Willard) - his first tackle in the game earned him a yellow card - it's a shame and Willard has to live with it. I don't condone bad behavior from players as we don't want chaos to reign on the field. We will do all what we can even though the game is emotional. "
Chiefs took the lead in the first half through Bernard Parker in the 36th minute and Lennox Bacela equalised in the 76th minute through a penalty in the second half to earn Pirates a ticket to the MTN 8 final.
