Simphiwe Mtsweni wrote his story when he made a debut for the Amakhosi in the most unfamiliar way. The youngster joined Chiefs at the beginning of the 2013/14 PSL season.
Mtsweni made a debut for Chiefs on Namibian soil and in the highly acclaimed CAF Champions League.
Chiefs progressed to the 2nd round of the CAF competition with a 4 - 1 aggregate of score.
"To be honest with you I am grateful for the opportunity that the Coach (Stuart Baxter) has given me. It shows he believes in the youngsters. To include a youngster in the starting line up on an away game, Cup game and more especially in a game of a magnitude of CAF Champions League, shows the Coach 's confidence in us. I just hope I did not disappoint," said Mtsweni.
"The game was not an easy. It was away game even though for us it was another home away from home in terms of the support. It was ok considering that we came here leading by 3 - 0. I am just happy that we progressed to the next round," commented Mtsweni.
"It all boils down to hard work. I will keep my focus and make sure I grab every opportunity that comes my way. We have a good company of experience. The senior players help us a lot. We rely on the senior players to grow," said Mtsweni with supreme confidence.
