Kaizer Chiefs are back in Polokwane this evening to face SuperSport United in a Betway Premiership fixtures that is bound to produce some fireworks, with over 35000 spectators expected to attend the game live. This is the teams’ second meeting in consecutive weeks at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

In last Saturday’s Carling Knockout round of 16 encounter – played in front of almost 25000 spectators, Amakhosi dumped the home team, Matsatsantsa, out of the cup competition by thumping them 4-0.

Apart from seeking revenge for last weekend’s heavy defeat, Matsatsantsa will want to bounce back after losing their midweek league match against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday evening at the Orlando Stadium.

With Chiefs faced with three testing matches in the next seven days, Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be hard at work as he tries to manage his squad to ensure that they are ready for the two league counters, as well as the Carling knockout quarterfinal next Saturday.

For this evening’s clash, Coach Nabi has opted to make one change in his starting XI – with Yusuf Maart making way for Edson Castillo in the middle of the park.

After last weekend’s clean sheet, Fiacre Ntwari is in goal for Chiefs.

The backline is unchanged with Bradley Cross staying at left-back, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel at centre-back, and Reeve Frosler keeps his position at right-back.

After a good performance last week, Samkelo Zwane keeps his position in the middle of park and is joined by Castillo, who gave a brilliant assist for Amakhosi’s fourth goal last week. Mduduzi Shabalala is on the right flank and Gaston Sirino will run on the left hand side.

One of last weekend’s scorers, Ranga Chivaviro. will work with young Wandile Duba upfront.

With Maart on the bench, Miguel wears the skipper’s armband.

The man blowing the whistle is Christopher Kistoor. Assistant referees are Kgara Mokoena and Athuxolo Madela. The fourth official is Thando Ndzandzeka.

The exhillaring Betway Premiership match between Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa will commence at 17:30 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
