‘Umgabadeli’ as Teenage was is still affectionately known in the soccer circles were at the Club’s Headquarters in Naturena on Tuesday, 09 March 2010. He had an opportunity to meet among others, Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung, Football Manager Bobby Motaung, Kit Manager Jackson Mokoena, including captain, Jimmy Tau and a player who has taken over his jersey no. 11, Abia Nale.
“He is definitely my favourite player in the current team,” he told kaizerchiefs.com while holding Nale’s hand.
“Boy, you definitely have it, just continue doing your best on the field. I believe that you have a lot to offer here. This is the right Club for you to grow and be the best you can be in this game,” said Teenage who joined Kaizer Chiefs as a skinny young boy from the dusty streets of Springs. He went on to become one of the greatest players for the Club and he’s remembered for his trickery on the touchline that left defenders on the ground.
Nale currently wearing the famous jersey no. 11 was delighted to have met Teenage, “It is an honour to hear a legend speaking in this manner. It is for the first time for me to meet him and what he said puts a challenge in me to do even better. He told me that I have an ability to play at the highest level. It is quite encouraging,” said Nale.
Teenage further told kaizerchiefs.com that the hopes of the Club winning the league next season rest on Nale’s shoulders, “He can be a kingpin in this team for sure. Nale is also surrounded by talented group of players and I believe in all of them,” added Teenage.
