Chiefs were off to the best possible scoring just two minutes into the game, what was good overall team play was rounded off when Mthokozisi Yende chipped the ball over the Swallows defence and Nale managed to knock the ball past goalkeeper Greg Etafia who had come storming off his line and into the back of the net.
Zhaimu Jambo sent the ball long from the left wing in the thirteenth minute and found his Jimmy Tau on and overlapping run on the opposite flank, Tau managed to find Kaizer Motaung Junior inside the Swallows 18 yard area with a perfectly floated ball.

A minute on and Leonard again stormed up the left wing and escaped from Isaacs but his final effort at goal resembled a back pass and not a shot on effort.
In the final minute of the first half Knowledge Musona terrorised Ramahlwe Mphahlele before unleashing a powerfully driven shot 20 yards out at goal, Etafia dived at full stretch to his left to block the ball. Nale attacked the rebound and Etafia again came out trumps as he blocked the Chiefs midfielders close range attempt, Chiefs though went into the break 1-0 up.

In the 48th minute Lethsolonyane failed to hit the target after being teed up by Musona who had done well to hold the ball before laying back to Letsholonyane who was waiting on the edge of the Swallows 18 yard area.
A minute on from there Letsholonyane linked up effectively with Mthkozisi Yende before being set free on the left he swung the ball towards Nale who waiting at the far post hit the ball at the first time of asking with Etafi beaten it was left to Swallows defender Keegan Ritchie to make a desperate goal line clearance.
On the hour mark Itumeleng Khune made dived in to acrobatically punch clear a cross from the left which was aiming to pick out Shaun Hashchick.
Eleven minutes from time Motaung played Nale through on goal after taking on and beating Vincent Kobola Nale tried lifting the ball over Etafia who came of his line to make a crucial block. Nale though did have Josta Dladla and Mandla Masango free to his left and could have chosen to lay the ball off to either.
