The Village looked more like a school yard rather than a football club last week. Four hundred and ninety grade 10 and 11 pupils came to visit Kaizer Chiefs’ headquarters before the Ajax Cape Town clash as part of their school tour, arriving in seven buses.
The children were accompanied by twenty two educators from the Zinikezeni Secondary School, Carolina, Mpumalanga. They were given a tour through the Time Capsule, which provides a glimpse of Amakhosi’s deep and rich history. Thereafter, the students went on a tour around the Village, seeing the training pitches, the high performance centre and the retail store.
From the Village they went to Johannesburg’s Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, which, coincidentally, was used as the venue to launch this season’s Forever Fearless jersey.
Whoever attended the Ajax game will have noticed a large group of energetic supporters on the opposite side of the main stand. These were the students who ended their day at the game and they certainly showed our supporters exactly how it’s done - they cheered, danced and sang for the full ninety minutes of the game.
“This is how we grow the brand,” reflected Chiefs Supporters Relationship Manager Tracy Williams. “These early brand adopters will be supporters for life. I strongly feel that Carolina has become part of the Amakhosi Family.”
