Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Siphesihle Ndlovu has his mind firmly focused on being fit and ready to hit the ground running when the 2026/27 season gets underway shortly.

Speaking from the Club’s exotic training camp in Alicante, Spain, the 29-year-old tells www.kaizerchiefs.com, “It has been a wonderful camp. We are very happy to be here to do some preparation for the new season. We are looking better and sharper each and every training session. We have a new coach with a new philosophy and we are adapting well to his ideas.

“We are all enthusiastic and very ambitious. This is a lovely environment but we are not here on holiday; we are here to work and we are putting in the effort on a daily basis. We are enjoying it, though,” he adds.

Ndlovu missed last season’s pre-season after signing just before the campaign began and is relishing the opportunity to prepare properly this time around.

“It’s always better as a professional to have a pre-season, especially when you join a new team,” he notes, “So I am privileged to be able to have this pre-season with Chiefs to get into the right condition for the start of the season.”

The all-action midfielder has seen action in both of Amakhosi’s friendlies on the tour and believes it is the perfect way to gauge their progress up to now.

“These games are a good way to test yourself as to where you are at. They were different types of teams. Rangers were more physical while Al Khalood were more tactical. You want to play against teams like that because it’s similar to what we are likely to face in the league and CAF Confederation Cup. We held our own and managed to score in both games, so those are positives we can take forward.”

Chiefs conclude their European tour with a match against La Liga side, Elche, on Saturday before returning home ahead of their season curtain-raiser against Scottland FC of Zimbabwe in the Toyota Cup on 26 July.

“Going into the Toyota Cup, our main test will be to see how much we are attuned to the new coach’s philosophy and fine-tuning our combinations and general understanding of how we want to play,” says of the fixture.

Ndlovu finishes off with an impassioned plea to the Khosi Nation, “I beg for our fans to be patient and trust the process because I believe we are currently building something special and the supporters are always a big part of it.”
