Amakhosi midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha has been displaying the fiesty and combative, charcteristics that fans have become accustomed to seeing him put up.

The midfield general has told kaizerchiefs.com that after a slow start to the season where he found himself battling for fitness and form he is now enjoying every moment of playing time that comes his way.

As he added "It was difficult and frustrating having to watch from the side those opening games, it took a lot of counselling from the coach and my teammates to get me into the correct frame of mind and to help me get me to the level that I am currently playing at. Everything is now back in order and things are going really well for the team and my self."

Tinashe who is 31 games away from making 300 appearances for Chiefs has likened the spirit and character demonstrated by the Amakhosi this season to that which was existent in and displayed by the team when the Zimbawean strong man helped the club win back to back league titles during the 2003 - 2004 and 2004 - 2005 seasons.

"I remember when we won the league championships in 03-04 and 04-05 the good spirit in the camp was responsible for us winning the title twice, there were games when despite having our backs to the wall our character shone through and no matter what challenge we faced we were ready to take it on and won games that we should not have.

The way the guys fought against SuperSport this past Sunday reminded me of those championship winning seasons, these kinds of hard working never give up performances will help us be extra competitive."

Tinashe furthermore holds the view that given the teams recent performances their confidence is on the up, but in spite of this they are not letting complaceny creep in as they head to their Telkom KnockOut Cup Quarter Final match against Free State Stars this Saturday.

"Stars won their league game against Aces on Saturday and they come into the match with their heads up, we have won our last couple of games which means that this game is going to pit two teams who are high on confidence up against each other the outcome can only be an explosive one."
