Tenacious midfielder, Tinashe ‘The General’ Nengomasha, was honoured by the Club on Thursday morning for playing over 300 games for the Club since his arrival early in the century.

Tinashe who played his 300th game for the Glamour Boys against Bidvest Wits on 24 August 2011 was presented with the jersey by Football Manager, Bobby Motaung in front of his teammates.

Motaung said, “On behalf of the Club we would like to congratulate Tinashe Nengomasha for the commitment he has shown since arriving here in 2002. He is an example and a professional. It was for the first time when we played against Santos in Polokwane couple of weeks ago to see him leaving the field because of injury. This shows how devoted he has been to this Club and today we honour him,”

Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic told kaizerchiefs.com; “Tinashe arrived here as a soldier and now he is a general and that says it all.

“I would like to join the Club in congratulating Tinashe for playing over 300 games for Kaizer Chiefs. It is not easy for someone to stay in one Club as big as Kaizer Chiefs and play over 300 games. It shows that he has been playing at the highest level from day one. He is very professional, never misses training and only misses games when he is suspended…a true professional,” said the former Serbian international.

Nengomasha not the one to say a lot, and in almost 10 years as a Glamour Boy he has always done his talking on the field. He was asked by his teammates to make a speech. He responded by taking a bow, “Thank you”, he said.

Currently the Captain in the absence of Itumeleng Khune the General is expected to lead the Glamour Boys as they aim to finish on a high when the square up against Free State Stars on the 17th December and AmaZulu on the 20th December 2011.
