“It’s a process and there is still a long way to go before we can confirm a launch date,” says Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung regarding the new Amakhosi Supporters Club’s membership card. After hosting two intensive workshops with supporters branches in November and December it is clear that still a lot of work remains to be done.

These workshops, which were attended by representatives from all nine provinces, provided valuable insight into the needs and wants of our supporters. With the input received the project team is at present looking at the best solutions to the various issues.

The rejuvenated Amakhosi Supporters Club is going to be much more than just a change of picture on the membership card. Supporters can not only look forward to a new card, but also to different benefits, more functionality and alternative ways to get the card.

“Branches are going to play a critical role in the Supporters Club,” adds Supporters Relationship Manager Tracy Williams, who manages this process with Branch Relations liaison Cecil Motaung and the Supporters Team. ”We cannot launch the new membership card before all the branches are structured properly.”

When the various elements for new membership card are in place and have been tested, the Club will announce a launch date.

“We have one chance to get it right,” concludes Jessica Motaung. “That’s why we will only launch when we have a programme for the membership card which will add true value and which #INSPIRES GREATNESS!”
