Tshegofatso “Ninja” Ramabu has told kaizerchiefs.com that he is encouraged by his teammate at the development Lucky Baloyi following his sterling performance against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday at Loftus Versfeld.

On Sunday the Glamour Boys came off second best against Mamelodi Sundowns, but Lucky Baloyi making his first start for Amakhosi was without a doubt a revelation.

Ninja who together with “Sheriff” as Lucky Baloyi is affectionately known, midfielder Abraham “Cambiasso” Jacobs and striker Lucky “Ndlela” Sitayitayi were all promoted to the first team at the start of the season but loaned out to Vodacom based Soweto Panthers last September. They are now back training with the first team following the loan spell at Panthers.

“It was encouraging to see ‘one of your own’ doing well in such a big game. ‘Sheriff’ had a fine game playing against some of the best players in the country. I spoke to him before the game and told him that the game will make or break him,”

“I called him after the game and told him to continue working hard and never look back. We played together in the U17, U19 and at Panthers after being promoted to the first team so you can imagine what it meant to all of us,”

Ramabu who himself won hearts of many supporters in the recent U20 Championships held in South Africa is positive of making a mark in the first team in the near future.

I have learnt a lot in the past couple of months starting from the preseason with the first team and going to Panthers. I played almost all the games and scored more than eleven goals from the midfield. It was important for me to be where I would play and the Vodacom League gave me a platform to play,”

We are now back training with the first team at the Village. We are working hard and we remain positive that we will get a chance,” added Ramabu.
