Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com Masenamela has put his recent good form down to the help he has received from his teammates and the clubs technical team, “if I play well it is because of the good support play of my teammates.
In our last three games what has worked out well for us is that we have carried out the coaches instructions, stuck to and executed our plans well and complemented each other with our collective play.
We are at an important stage of the title race and we do not want to just bank on the past two games, we need to carry on playing the way we through to the end of the season.”
Masenamela who has operated as a wing back as well remaining strong in his regular role at left back is not letting complacency creep in and feels that he has a lot of work to do to be the player he aspires to be.
As he said,”when you playing well you have to carry on improving, I am happy that I have been able to play in the recent games, and I would like to improve on my delivery of balls into the danger zone to the attackers. It is something that I have been working hard on getting right”.
According to Masenamela the recent break which gave Chiefs three weeks to prepare for their final six league games and their Nedbank Cup last 16 game worked out in the Amakhosi’s favour.
“The time we had because of the international games and the fact that both Wits and SuperSport were in African competition helped us work on our conditioning, we trained hard and put ourselves through the grinder and it has paid off for us.”
Of Chiefs next game against Mpumalanga Aces on Saturday evening in Polokwane Masenamela said, “we have to give it our best shot to win the game, we know that Aces might be at the bottom of the table but it is not a given that we will win the game.
We need to understand that it will take another strong team effort to see off a team who are fighting for their survival and will be willing to give everything in these remaining games.”
