No public allowed at MDC games

The PSL has informed the clubs that no supporters will be allowed at the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) games this weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Reserves will face Bidvest Wits Reserves on Sunday, 17 January. This game was supposed to be part of a MDC festival held at Cape Town’s Philippi Stadium today and tomorrow.

However, the PSL pointed out in a media statement last night that the Philippi Stadium was declared as “non-compliant” to specified security requirements at a security and planning meeting.

All the fixtures have now been moved to another stadium. The Chiefs Reserves match, however, as well as the other games will now no longer be open to the public.

The PSL furthermore apologised “to members of the public who had already been issued with tickets to attend the MDC festival this Saturday and Sunday”.
