Nothing ‘friendly’ about Macufe Cup – Ritchie

Keegan Ritchie has warned Bloemfontein Celtic that there will be nothing friendly when the two sides square up in a Macufe Cup on Sunday, 09 October 2011.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways having lost their last game against Golden Arrows and Ritchie speaking to kaizerchiefs.com revealed that they want to use Macufe as a ‘turning point’.

“We need to go back to our winning ways starting on Sunday against Celtic in the Macufe Cup,” said the soft spoken leftback.

“Macufe Cup is more of a celebration but when we step on the field…we want to win all the time. It is a cup game so we want to bring it to Naturena. It is also going to be an exciting game for the fans who I am sure they are going to fill the stadium.

Ritchie who has been playing second fiddle to Jimmy Jambo since getting injured ahead of the MTN8 semi final clash against Ajax Cape Town is expecting a tough game from Celtic.

“They made things very difficult for us last month in a league game in Bloemfontein and they will be tough as usual on Sunday.

“The spirit in the camp is high despite missing some of the guys through injury and others on national duty. We are confident that come Sunday we will come back to Naturena with a positive result.

Kick off for the game is at 15:00.
