Now for the league – Tshabalala

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger, Siphiwe Tshabalala has told kaizerchiefs.com that the league is his priority this season.

This was following Confederations Cup third and fourth place play offs where once again the Soweto born midfielder played a crucial role.

The flying winger was unlucky not to score in the tournament as he forced saves against Brazil and Spain (3rd and 4th place play off). However it was his superb cross that created an opener for Katlego Mpela on Sunday.

“The Confederations Cup was for all of us a learning curve. In my opinion we did well but now I am putting that behind me to focus on helping the Club to win the league this coming season,” he said.

Tshabalala and his Bafana Bafana teammate Itumeleng Khune have been given a ‘couple of days’ off by coach Vladimir Vermezovic and will join the team some time in July.

“We played against top opposition and the match against Spain showed that in football you have to wait for the final whistle to celebrate. We though it was in the ‘bag’ but things did not work out. Myself and my teammates have accepted the defeat and we will go back to the drawing board.”

Tshabalala who won no less than five awards during the Club’s end of the season award added that he is looking forward to joining his teammates ahead of Vodacom Challenge game against Manchester City.

“I am looking forward to playing against one of English’s top teams but the league for me is a priority and I am sure that is the feeling for my teammates as well,” he concluded.
