Samir Nurković is back from a one-match suspension to lead Kaizer Chiefs’ attack in this afternoon’s crucial Absa Premiership fixture against Bidvest Wits.
The Serbian striker, however, will be without his usual partner up-front, Leonardo Castro, because the Colombian will miss this season’s remaining games due to a hamstring injury.
Backing Nurković up will be Khama Billiat, with Bernard Parker and Reeve Frosler in attacking wing positions.
Anthony Akumu Agay and Kearyn Baccus will be commanding the centre of the park, occupying the two central midfield positions.
Coach Ernst Middendorp has furthermore decided to go with the same defensive formation as for the previous match, against Mamelodi Sundowns.
It means that Daniel Akpeyi will continue to be in goal, with, from right, Kgotso Moleko, Mulomowandau Mathoho, Daniel Cardoso and Yagan Sasman being the defenders in front of the tall Nigerian.
Lebogang Manyama will miss this afternoon’s encounter due to a muscle strain.
Parker will be the captain, as Willard Katsande will start the match on the bench.
Amakhosi are topping the league table, with 53 points from 27 games, while the Clever Boys are in fourth position having seven points less from the same number of matches.
The referee is Victor Hlungwani, while his assistants are Sandile Dilikane and Shaun Olive. Given Letlaka will be the fourth official.
Chiefs will face Wits at FNB Stadium. This is normally Amakhosi’s home ground, but because of the different rules due to all clubs presently being based in Gauteng, a pre-league restart draw decided that Soccer City will be the Clever Boys’ home ground for the remaining fixtures this season. The encounter will kick-off at 15:30.
No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the DStv channel SuperSport 4 and various SABC radio stations, with commentary coming through the Twitter handle, @KaizerChiefs
